HOMESCHOOLING THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL
A lot of parents are fearful when it comes to homeschooling high schoolers. Yet, there are so many resources and opportunities available. You can homeschool high school successfully!

HSLDA's Homeschooling Thru High School section has information for just about every topic related to high school.

HOW TO DETERMINE HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS & PREPARING FOR COLLEGE
If your student is already in high school, don't worry. It's not too late to prepare for college now. Further, if it seems a student needs more time to earn additional credits than originally planned, it's fine to proceed with an extra semester or even a "super-senior" year of high school.

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA
Parents set the requirements for graduation. Guidelines for high school requirements are here: Washington State Laws and Homeschool Success.
If a student is graduating apart from an umbrella or private school extension program, the parent will issue the diploma. Two great places to order a diploma are: HomeSchoolDiploma.com and HSLDA. Or, you can get create and print your own.

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
Often, homeschooling families will organize a ceremony and reception for graduates with other homeschoolers from their church, a club, or a co-op. Other families honor their graduate by hosting a BBQ or reception recognition event at a park or their home.

CAPS & GOWNS
Whether a ceremony is formal or not, some parents or groups outfit their graduate(s) with a cap and gown. The best price and quality for these items are the matte sets at HomeSchoolDiploma.com. The earlier you order, the better the discount!  Also, groups ordering together can qualify for volume discounts and save on shipping. Call the company for details.
